Artist Profile
Yin Qun’s practice explores the intersection of Eastern aesthetic philosophy and Western expressionism through the medium of oil painting. Deeply rooted in the cultural symbolism of traditional Chinese theater (Xiqu), her work extracts the dramatic tension and lyrical essence of theatrical figures, transforming them into a contemporary visual language.
By navigating the delicate balance between figurative representation and lyrical abstraction, she deconstructs formal narratives into evocative symphonies of color and texture. Her canvases serve as a stage where historical echoes meet modern sensibilities, inviting viewers into an immersive dialogue between time, memory, and the enduring vitality of cultural identity.
